Electrical Calibration Laboratory

The laboratory maintains reference standard for measuring and sourcing AC/ DC voltage, AC/DC current, AC/DC Power, Resistance, Capacitance, Frequency and Time capability. This includes the following: Reference Multimeter (Fluke 8508A/01), Universal Counter (Agilent 53230A) and Precision LCR Meter (Agilent  E4980A) which are the primary standards and the Multi-Product Calibrator (Fluke 5520A) which is one of the main working standard of the laboratory that are all traceable to National and International Standards. The laboratory is established to meet the calibration needs of all electrical testing and measuring instruments. Our capabilities are shown below:

Analog & Digital (3.5 to 6.5 Digit) Handheld & Bench-type instruments:

·         DC voltage meter - Up to 1000V

·         AC voltage meter - Up to 1020 V (from 10 Hz to 500 kHz)

·         DC current meter - Up to 20.5 A

·         AC current meter - Up to 20.5 A (from 10 Hz to 10 kHz)

·         Resistance meter – 200 microohms to 1.1 Gigaohm - expanded capability

·         Capacitance meter - From 0.19 nF to 110 mF

·         Frequency  meter - Up to 2 MHz

·         DC power meter - Up to 11 kW

·         AC power meter - Up to 11 kW (from 10 Hz to 10 kHz)

·         DC clamp meter - From 10 A to 1025 A

·         AC clamp meter - From 10 A to 1025 A (from  45 Hz to 440 Hz)

·         Timers & Stopwatches – added capability

·         Resistance source - From 2 ohms to 2 Gigaohm

·         Capacitance source - From 10 pF to 1 F (from 20 Hz to 2 MHz) –added capability

·         Frequency  source - Up to 2 MHz – added capability
